Vintage Surf Culture at Lemongrass
Fernandina Beach, FL - There’s a little slice of Southern California in Fernandina Beach’s historic downtown. A boutique called Lemongrass opened in the former Last Flight Out location in late 2010 and has been hanging 10 ever since with its clever take on vintage surf culture. A lot of items for surfer girls here along with a nice selection of leather handbags and flip flops. For the guys, they stock a variety of Sanuks and Oakley sunglasses. It’s cool to go in and check out the always evolving interior, including a number of old surfboards carefully placed on the ceiling beams.
Lemongrass is located at 114 Center Street next door to the Christmas shop. It’s operated by the same people who own Driftwood Surf Shop on A1A. For more information on Lemongrass, visit their website.

(They do bulk orders for weddings, parties, baby & bridal showers, etc.)

A Slice of NYC in Central Florida

Eustis, FL - For those who lament a lack of authentic New York style pizza in Central Florida, you might want to make a trip to Eustis and give the Great Pizza Company a try. Owner Sandy Johnson opened the restaurant in 2008 and has been racking up accolades for her tasty pies ever since.
Johnson’s pizzas are the complete opposite of the greasy pies the chains serve. Each one is made with dough and water imported directly from the Big Apple. Johnson says that’s what gives her pies the edge.
Customers will immediately notice the thin crust, which is always baked to perfection. Toppings range from pepperoni and sausage to pineapple and chicken. There’s also a number of specialty pizzas to choose from. If you’re in the mood for something spicy, you might want to go with the Mongolian beef or chipotle chicken. They’re guaranteed to give your mouth a little kick. Other specialty pizzas include BBQ pulled pork, Thai basil chicken and Paradise Cheeseburger.
The Great Pizza Company is also a great place to grab a sandwich, pasta or some fresh chicken wings. Every item is cooked to order and can be delivered to your doorstep within 15 miles of the restaurant.
The Great Pizza Company is located at 23 East Magnolia Avenue in the Eustis historic district. For more information, visit their website.

The lab masters over at Slate.com have taken the horse race for the GOP presidential nomination to a whole new level. Makes you wonder how many horses will still be in the race come late January.
