World Famous Ben’s Chili Bowl

Bill Cosby, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Martin Luther King Jr and President Obama.  You’re in good company when you eat at Ben’s Chili Bowl on Washington DC’s U Street.  It’s not uncommon to see a line wrapped around the building, especially during the summer tourist season.  So pack plenty of patience when you go.  This landmark has been around since 1958 and has the best chili dogs in town.  The fries aren’t bad either.  Expect to pay between $5 and $8 for a dog.
